啊啊啊，megan 很有心机，我预感 don 又要两面瞒的过日子了。
我失去了对faye 的任何敬意。 依我看， 利用职业关系获取的不算独门也不算非常内部的消息给don 搭个桥，只能说是有点灰色地带，不算什么大事。但是她既然这么坚决的认为这是违反职业道德的，就不应该干。尤其还梨花黛玉的表示“我本来不想干但是想到你在我生活中的地位。。”靠，我马上看不起她。

这就是办公室恋情不好的地方。 私事公事很容易混在一起。Faye一开始的反应那么激烈， 大概是觉得自己在被Don利用吧。我看Don同学和Faye的夫妻店还是遥遥无期啊。

I had never, ever thought Matt Weiner and co. would pull this out of their hat. Everyone online had been speculating which big company would ride in and rescue SCDP from demise. Nobody expected Don Draper to pull this stunt! And with all these references to previous episodes! The whole season is tying up in a neat, pretty knot.

But I still have no idea how they are going to deal with the season finale!

Megan will be trouble, I am sure of it. Ah ah ah ah!

That would have been somewhat expected, wouldn't it? No, I don't think anyone would have guessed ep. 12. I'm getting a whiplash from season 4.

this episode is so unexpected. I totally did not expect the twist about Midge. THat was an sad sad sad turn. How did Don know? Once she pop the H word all the dots were connected, and No 4 was pretty much a give away, but still, I would not have thought Don knew these things well. Heroin even in 60 had the bad name and not quite an artsy drug....
I LOVE the ad.
And I LOVE the little moment between Peggy and Faye. From one grown up woman to another. Peggy is my comfort and inspiration in this show. Don is my guilty pleasure.
And my new favorite clown is hilarious!

God I am really getting into this show. Every bits of it reminded me sth in my own life.

为啥说 No. 4 is a giveaway? 很明显么？Midge 真惨，但是剧情里关于“上瘾”的双关含义太妙了。Don 这一招有点太超前了，烟草广告全面下降至少还得二十年。他们一群人一边抽烟一边看 Don 的广告也太讽刺了。

结尾的时候 Don 和 Peggy 对视一笑提醒大家其实现在 Don 已经相当依赖 Peggy 了，他的主意本来就来自 Peggy 的想法：一是 If you don't like the conversation, change the topic. 二是 Peggy 之前搞火腿肉的 shenanigans。整个第四季都有这个主题，从一开头的 Glo-Coat 广告就是 Don 利用 Peggy 的主意加工成英明决策的。他们越来越成为 creative partners 了。

显然你不知道heroin 的一个绰号叫no. 4 。我也是等她说了heroin 之后想起来的。她一边有犯瘾的征兆一边努力微笑伸手摸don 的大腿那场戏真是太惨了，尤其是回想起第一季里她自由自在不受拘束的模样。。midge 还真是don 的历任情人里我最喜欢的一个！啊，看她变的这么sleazy 我都想赶紧掏钱给她走出那间肮脏的屋子去。。。
我也非常喜欢don 寻找peggy 的肯定。也许这也是微妙的时代变化，他生活中女性不再是包容的母亲和顺从的妻妾，而是渐趋平等伙伴关系。

这一集可以说是 Don 再次 reinvents 自己，重新打造SCDP。只是恐怕要变成 SDP 了 ...

You know what's so great about Mad Men, especially season 4? All the episodes and those seemingly random plot elements are carefully designed to fit into a bigger pattern. Other TV series do not have such big pictures and contain a lot of throwaway moments -- story lines and details that are put there to fill up space or provide momentary thrills. Here many details and moments serve multiple purposes: to advance the plot within an episode, to advance the larger plot of the season, to tell us something about each character, and to echo previous and future occurrences to form a larger pattern for the season and the entire series. The interconnectedness of everything in Mad Men is wonderful.

不过 season finale 中有一段戏很喜欢，可能是从头到尾最喜欢的一段。

What what??? I know Joan is still pregnant. Peggy got an new account. Don is marrying Megan (what happened to Faye????) So is this echoing back Dr Miller's comments "You will be remarried within a year -- or, I forgot how people hate to be thought of as a type." Type? Cliche is the better word. OMG I can't believe I am so excited to see Don back in his old life -- he will be taken good care of, and have the energy to skew around again! yeah!

I read Matthew Weiner on Season 4 today on the train. I CAN NOT BELIEVE Matthew Weiner let his son play Glen.

I wanted to show that Don had lost his coordinates, was not married anymore, is getting older and is not good on his own

I thought it was interesting that the season finale is titled "Tomorrowland" and in the episode it is Peggy, not Don, who saved the agency.

I love Peggy, but she is toooooooo moral to be the main character. Not enough guilty pleasure watching her.

I don't think Peggy will become the main character, but it seems that Don is no longer the go-to guy at the agency.

The scene between Peggy and Joan is the best ever.

Faye Miller is Jewish? I had no idea. i thought she was of Irish extraction (with her father's gangster connections).

Don is indeed an old-fashioned guy. It is therefore not surprising that he decides to marry a woman who can take care of his children. It would have been sort of incongruous for him to marry a modern woman.

By the season finale, I have a feeling that Betty is finally fading out of the story. (Regardless of what Matt Weiner claims, I think he does hate her.)

Not so much he decides to but he needs to. This is one thing he can not do. He can't take care of his children or even himself. So whoever can becomes indispensible.
And then he will cheat on Megan before end of Season 5. I bet third episode the latest!

I just love seeing Peggy becoming the new Don in the agency.
I like Ken so much more now, he actually has some decency. And he really loves his wife, I am touched! Pete...roll my eyes

Don is becoming the new Roger. How ironic is THAT.

I KNOW! Ken is such an anti-Pete (and Pete is such a baby). In a novel (or novel-like TV series), one can only afford to have (relatively) perfect supporting characters, but never perfect heroes. The readers/audience should never be allowed to like the main characters too much, but are allowed to like supporting characters more (because they get less psychological exposure).

Betty is so pathetic. So pathetic. Firing Carla is just the last nail in the coffin.

A lot of people are sorely disappointed that, after all is said and done, Don is no better (or more modern, or more insightful) than Roger. The time is slipping by him.

I'm in awe of Weiner, who dares to make the story into a journey, but the hero does not reach the promise land in the end. He is still straggling along the road and, although in some aspects he moves forward (like accepting his past as Faye Miller suggested), in many other aspects he remains hopelessly backward.

I KNOW! Not only he did not reach promise land .... the so called 'hero' turned out to be another ROGER.... how disillusioned are we!
Henry became disillusioned with Betty over the firing of Carla. I can see that. Honeymoon is over. (glee) This show bring out the best and the worst of me!

There was a scene in the episode, I think it was in the hotel when Don and his kids were sitting together looking at the map of Disneyland, where he said "mad tea party." Of course it was a reference to Alice in Wonderland, but I had to wonder whether someone snuck in a contemporary reference too.

I am pretty sure of that.
You know what? Come to think about it, I felt bad for Betty before because Don was such a jerk. Now that she is no longer married to THE jerk, I lost all sympathy for her.

Peggy是不是有些太贪心了，那个年代她能有自己的办公室，声音能被男同事听到，还要真的被颁个拯救公司的英雄勋章么？
Megan比Betty还是成熟很多的，每次我看到Betty那种嘴一瘪眼睛斜上瞄的洋娃娃表情，就恨不能给电视机一个巴掌。
Joan和Peggy开怀大笑的场景可真好。Joan的小男生在越南不会带个亚洲宝贝回家吧？

我觉得吧，虽然 Peggy 志不在此，但是看到 Megan 单凭肉体 (from her point of view) 就长驱直入一步登入 Don 的心，而她奋斗半天还得不到 Don 的尊敬，有点酸溜溜的也难免。 Peggy 是爱 Don 的，虽然 not in that way。而 Don 这个臭男人竟然还暗示要她来指导培养 Megan ("She admires you.")，换了我也会气坏了。即使是眼下的职业女性---包括自己事业很成功的---都经常抱怨花瓶女靠了年轻美貌“一步到位”无需奋斗就什么都得到了，当然这种看法不一定客观公允，再说她们自己也未必想跟花瓶夫人们换位置，但是牢骚还是很自然的。（我猜想，Peggy 的反应中多半也有失望：别看 Don Draper 做事这么英明神武，说到底还不是跟 Roger 一样幼稚，男人多么 predictable。她一直很仰慕 Don，现在很有点儿偶像倒塌的意思。）

那当然，看人挑担不吃力，职业妇女觉得花瓶儿都凭原始天赋，花瓶儿还觉得职业妇女是运气好捏。 megan 不就觉得peggy 是（靠睡觉）得了don 的提拔才当上copy writer。 别说peggy ，谁愿意看见don 公私不分变成roger 那样的办公室小丑笑料

不仅 Faye Miller 不想替 Don 带孩子，换成 Peggy 也肯定不愿意。所以职业妇女和家庭妇女彼此不要羡慕。

别说带孩子，光做花瓶儿都挺难的，我觉得！人家美女们浑身上下事儿多了去了，都要照办累死人了。
